The Prophet of the Long Road speaks of the the journey that was Francis Asbury’s life. He was appointed a Methodist Bishop to America by John Wesley. He preached practically everyday for 45 years and averaged 6000 miles per year on horseback. He suffered through snowstorms, floods, and Indian attacks as well the treacherous days of the Revolutionary War. He was a dominant voice in the Second Great Awakening. This pen honors his noble position, and at the same time reminds us of his rugged independence and his humble and sacrificial life.
